Seoul tracks information about germ cell scandal
While questions about the stem cell research of Korean scientist Hwang Woo-suk have not been elucidated, there is a new allegation regarding germ cell problems today.
The allegation raised the issue of the authenticity of the paper published in the journal Science last February, in which Mr. Hwang said he first created germ cells from cloned embryos. A group of young Korean scientists alleged that the germplasm photograph posted in his article Hwang completely coincides with the image of the germ cell of MizMedi hospital, which was sent to another newspaper (Stem Cells ) before. One scientist asks, " If you have successfully developed a stem cell from a human embryo for the first time, would you have taken a picture of another normal stem cell to prove it?" ? "
Earlier, at a press conference on December 16, Seoul National University of Korea announced the establishment of a special investigation committee to examine the authenticity of stem cell research by Professor Hwang Woo- suk done. Although Mr. Hwang insisted that the results of the 2004 study were completely genuine, the situation was inadequate for him.
