Albino crocodile died

The 28-year-old crocodile suffers from a rare genetic syndrome with white skin that died at an aquarium in the United States.

The fish after the genetic syndrome rarely died

Audubon Aquarium of Audubon Natural Research Institute confirmed the death of the rare crocodile on September 7, Nydailynews said.

The cause of death of the crocodile named Spots is still unclear. A group of veterinarians will conduct an autopsy to conclude.

"Spots and 16 other newly hatched crocodiles discovered by workers at Louisiana Land and Exploration Company in a swamp in Louisiana during a field trip in 1986," said Audubon Aquarium.

"The group of workers then brought some individuals to Audubon Zoo. Spots were raised at Audubon Aquarium since the establishment opened in 1990".

Spots with rare genetic syndrome Leucism degrade skin pigmentation, making the skin white. According to CBS News, fewer than 15 American crocodiles suffer from this syndrome.

Leucism's crocodiles face many risks when living in nature, because albino skin color makes them vulnerable to enemies' detection and vulnerability to sunlight exposure.

Rich Toth, executive director of Audubon Aquarium, said that Spots' chances of survival in the wild are almost zero. Therefore, he is proud that the park has had the opportunity to care for a rare animal and have such a beautiful appearance for 28 years.
