An American Indian who traveled with Iceland to Iceland?
Scientists have long sought the answer to hidden places in history by studying the genetic code of some Icelandic.
They searched to see if an American Indian woman from the New World (America) had returned to Europe with the Vikings five centuries before Columbus returned to Spain with some Native Americans. native or not.

Numerous historical evidence and archaeological findings prove that the Vikings established the first colonies on the North American coast before 1,000 AD. But what is not known for sure is how an Icelandic family has a genetic structure that carries a genetic indicator dating back to 1,000 BC, while this genetic directive is mostly found only in Aboriginal people. Africa.
In 2010, a study showed that the first Native Americans arrived in continental Europe around the eleventh century. The study was conducted by deCODE Genetics, a world-leading gene research laboratory in Iceland, and discovered a unique gene found in only four distinct families in the country. This DNA line is named C1e , is mitochondria, meaning the genes are introduced and transmitted through a female individual.
Based on evidence of this DNA, the researchers suggest that an American Indian (either voluntary or compulsory) accompanied the Vikings when they returned to Iceland. This woman survived the journey at sea and later gave birth in her new homeland. To date, there are 80 Icelanders carrying this particular gene.
Even so, there is another explanation for the presence of C1e in the genes of these 80 Icelanders. It is possible that those Native American genes appeared in Iceland after Columbus discovered the New World. It is possible that an Native American woman was brought to Iceland by Europeans to America. However, the researchers said that this case is unlikely because Iceland was quite isolated from other lands then.
But the only way to eliminate this possibility is that scientists have to find descendants of pre-Columbus Icelanders who their genes can analyze and have C1e.

Another difficulty researchers face is that the C1e genes may not be of Native Americans but of residents of other parts of the world. For example, no Native American group now has the exact DNA lineage found in the 80 Icelanders mentioned above. However, it is possible that Native Americans who have this gene line become extinct.
Another idea put forward in this research is that the genes are from Asia. But this idea was eventually abandoned because researchers discovered that the C1e line had been present in the Icelandic genes since the 12th century, which was long before the arrival of Asian genes in Icelandic body.
Did an Native American come to Iceland and leave here a genetic directive into legend? A man drives a ship simulating a Viking ship.
If this finding could eventually prove that the Vikings brought an American Indian woman to Iceland, history needs to be rewritten. Although the Viking anthem refers to a meeting with Native Americans, there was no mention of the Viking taking an American Indian woman back to Iceland with them. Moreover, the current archaeological evidence does not indicate the presence of an American Indian woman in Iceland.
The more we dive into the history of the Vikings, the more we change about the way they lived, traveled and traded.
Hopefully, over time, this mystery will be clarified and that the course of world history can be accurately and clearly recorded to give us a deeper understanding of our ancient past.
