Anti-assault equipment

Picture 1 of Anti-assault equipment European Space Agency (EADS) has announced a laser surveillance system aimed at detecting snipers before they perform assassination.

Most anti-sniper systems today are generally passive because the sound or heat sensors rely on the first shot to start.

Overcoming this shortcoming, EADS experts rely on the 'cat eye' principle to produce ELLIPSE assassins. Installed on a tripod, the device scans the laser at a protected location to detect all of the lenses in the area. Then, the processing unit will screen and distinguish between sniper rifles and other harmless lenses, such as cameras and binoculars.
