According to scientists from the Georgia Institute of Technology, USA, the situation is that ant colonies have different behavior . When spilled from a funnel, they concentrate like a thick syrup and crawl back into a circle when pressed down.

In the case of fighting, they cling to each other as a rubber-like elastic solid. Two experts Zhongyang Liu and David Hu said how the ant colonies form these types of structures can be used in bridge construction, to create materials with self-welding cracks.
