Arrest 16 online scammers
The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) today said at least 16 people will be arrested in the near future due to involvement in global phishing attacks.
This is the result of an FBI cybercrime campaign conducted between August and October 2004. More than 20 FBI employees were also involved in the campaign, with the main objective being phishing attacks targeting large financial institutions worldwide.

The FBI's investigation also targeted hackers who "kidnapped" about 50 servers for the purpose of phishing attacks and stealing user account information.
Of the 16 arrested this time, three live in the US, 11 live in Poland and the rest live in Romania. However, the subjects living in Romania are still only suspected, the FBI does not have much information to confirm the offense of these people.
' Cybercriminals are now not confined to the territory of a country but they have expanded to a global scale ,' said James Finch, FBI's assistant director of cybercrime.
