Artificial plants provide energy and green environment
Currently, world energy still depends on 80% on fossil fuels. While fossil fuel combustion will produce carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) - a greenhouse gas that scientists believe is a major factor in global climate change. But climate change can be controlled by plants that absorb a lot of CO2.
With a rapidly increasing population, industrialization and green space, the scientists are trying to find the best alternatives.
American professor of geology and physics Klaus Lackner has a bold idea to create synthetic plants that mimic natural trees and absorb CO 2 in the air through a filtration system. Inspired by Professor Lackner's findings, a number of technology initiatives are in turn.
In an effort to simulate nature, these artificial trees provide sustainable energy. But compared to natural plants, artificial plants are easier to maintain, do not require regular pruning and can move anywhere according to environmental requirements. In addition, artificial plants grow in all weather conditions, do not need irrigation, care, cultivation .
However, most are made of plastic without natural materials, so it is difficult to dispose of waste - it is the biggest defect compared to natural plants. On the other hand, the installation of artificial plants and the ability to convert CO2 depend heavily on technology and probably require a lot of money investment. Here are some development projects paving the way for the future of clean energy and green environment
1. Urban Field
Anthony DiMari's innovative design is finalized in the SHIFTboston competition. The project includes a small field of artificial plants that harness wind energy to light LED lights at night.
2. Light tree
These solar street lamps are designed by Omar Ivan Huerta Cardoso. They are surrounded by a number of solar cells that power LED lights at the base of the tree. The entire compartment inside the tree is filled with water that disperses the light inside to create a vibrant color at night.
3. The Sun Tree
Design by Mattew Seibert. Plants harness wind and solar energy, and then store in a battery that provides energy for household use through wiring. The tree is resistant to all weather conditions, ranging from 15 to 22 meters high - suitable for high-intensity direct sunlight and strong wind. The tree is made of plastic and stainless steel.
4. Artificial plants
Solar Botanic's high-tech design, artificial plants exploiting solar, wind and rain energy. Each tree occupies an area of about 6m 2 , enough to provide electricity for a household. The main element of this technology is the "Nanoleaf" (nano artificial leaves) that includes solar cells and heat to harness solar energy. Moreover, the branches also produce electricity when swinging in front of the wind.
5. Nissan's Sun Tree
Nissan's design for the city is zero emissions in 2030. Technology was introduced at CEATEC Technology Exhibition 2010 . Plants are equipped with solar panels that follow the sun to harness maximum natural energy.
6. Artificial street lamp
The Sun Tree absorbs energy during the day and lights up at night as a design by Vinaccia Integral Design. The tree has 6 branches, each branch is equipped with solar cells to generate 100W clean electricity.
