Denmark helps Vietnam grow green

Denmark will provide $ 135 million to Vietnam in the next two years, which focuses primarily on green growth.

Mr. John Nielsen, the Danish ambassador to Vietnam, said that in the coming time, they will focus on three main areas: efficient use of water resources, access to clean water for poor households; wind energy development and climate change response activities.

Denmark will provide financial support to improve the quality of clean water and access to clean water for poor households, support Vietnam with a national target program on climate change and potential exploration projects, the use of wind energy in Vietnam.

"For us, it is important to ensure that green growth will increasingly be closely linked to sustainable development as well as business opportunities , " said John Nielsen.

The Ambassador also said that Denmark has many outstanding advantages in energy efficiency, solar energy, renewable energy from garbage, biomass, so Denmark has a firm basis to invest in Vietnam.

"Wind power projects require a large investment because this is a high-end technology. In response to this challenge, in November, a Danish delegation will visit Vietnam, we will try to establish the cooperation agreement between the Vietnamese government and businesses of both sides to deploy wind power projects " , Danish Ambassador said.

Answering the press about Danish investment in nuclear power projects in Vietnam, this is also considered a green energy source, said John Nielsen: "Denmark does not intend to develop atomic energy. , which we focus on developing other renewable energy, this decision received a high consensus of our people ".
