Denmark prioritizes to help Vietnam cope with climate change

At the press conference to announce development projects for Vietnam and the situation of Vietnam - Denmark cooperation from now until the end of 2014, Ambassador John Nielsen said that Denmark will disburse up to 100 million. USD for official development assistance (ODA) is not refundable to Vietnam.

"Under the Green Book of the 2013 edition of the European Union Delegation on Cooperation with Vietnam, Denmark is the largest non-refundable aid among European countries in 2012 and 2013 , " said John Nielsen. to speak.

With this money, Denmark will spend the highest percentage of investment on climate change about 25%, the next key area that the country invests is clean water and sanitation at a rate of 15%, followed by Green growth sector 20%, the remaining amount will be disbursed in other projects.

Talking about the reasons for prioritizing climate change, Mr. John Nielsen said that Denmark has always had a cooperation program with countries facing climate change risks, including Vietnam. At the same time, Denmark also has strengths and expertise in this area.

Also according to the Danish Embassy in Vietnam, Danish support mainly focuses on developing poor communities in the three regions of the country, especially in Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Lai Chau and Dien Bien, Ben Tre and Quang Nam.
