In many tourist destinations, visitors prefer to sit for a street artist to receive a portrait immediately after a few minutes. Now that artist can be a robot.

At the upcoming CeBIT trade fair in Hanover, Germany, Fraunhofer's booth will feature robots capable of portraying portraits.

Of course, computers can be easily drawn, thanks to graphical methods, but the difference here is how to "teach " robots ignore the details to focus on the main character.

Duplication is not difficult for a computer, but for a robot to 'see' and draw a portrait it needs to focus on specific features, such as eyes and Soften the lines on the forehead as well as around the mouth.

Robots use an edge processing software to determine the point where the pen will be placed. A typical portrait takes about 10 minutes, the same speed as the human artist.

Like other street painters, this robot also has a daily main job. At the Fraunhofer Institute, it was assigned the task of analyzing reflexes. When light reflects on an object, the robot draws a hemisphere on it, allowing reflection of the image from all angles.

According to the Science Daily , the robot is a product of the Robotlab artists, the ZKM Arts and Media Center in Karlsruhe (Germany).
