Austria successfully tested artificial blood vessels on mice
Austrian scientists created artificial blood vessels capable of biodegradation and tested successfully on mice, which could be used in heart bypass surgery.

" The blood vessels of the mouse were checked 6 months after the artificial part", the page wired.co.uk quoted Mrs. Helga Bergmeister, Vienna Medical University, said. "We do not detect any signs of aneurysm, hematoma or inflammation."

Bergmeister noted that natural cells also turn blood vessels into body tissues.
Artificial blood vessels are made from elastomer , a special material that has both viscosity and elasticity by turning the polymer solution in the electric field into very thin fibers. This fiber is then rolled into a tube for surgical use.
Elastomer is also a porous material so blood can penetrate, making the artificial circuit structure more stable and similar to natural blood vessels.
This success will be a big step in the treatment of diseases such as atherosclerosis, peripheral blood vessels. However, artificial blood vessels need to undergo many clinical trials before being applied to the human body.
