Be pregnant, don't use antibacterial soap!
US scientists have just issued warnings to pregnant women: if using antibacterial soap, their children will increase the risk of obesity and metabolic disorders.
New research results at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, California, show that exposure to some of the familiar chemicals in antibacterial soap can make the future baby obese in adolescence.Triclocarban (TCC) , a chemical once thought to be "safe" , used in the medical field, can hinder and destroy lipid metabolism, slowing down the breakdown of the body's natural fat. .

Preliminary studies in mice showed that females with average weight increased by 11%, while male calves increased by 8% when exposed to TCC. Scientists say they will continue to study, but preliminary evaluations suggest that this ratio may correspond to the whole person.
Dr. Heather Enright, the lead author of the study, said: "We have proved that TTC can transfer from mother to child through the placenta and breastfeeding. Contacting TTC in the development process has can be dangerous to the health of an embryo and generate irreversible changes in fetal development, such as greater sensitivity to changes in body hormones. "
Last year, TTC-triclocarban was on the list of 19 antibacterial chemicals banned by the US. The company with a large market share, UK-based Unilever, said it would remove triclosan and triclocarban completely in the product later this year.
The reason that antibacterial soaps have been used recently is because of viral diseases that are becoming strong. However, a study recently reported in the University of San Francisco showed that antibacterial soap is no more useful than regular soap in killing germs. In contrast, some other studies show that it only increases antibiotic resistance. Abuse of antimicrobial agents, including antibacterial soap, only helps bacteria become stronger and increase resistance to drugs - an extremely big threat to many medical industries.
