Nopal cactus originated from the Americas, growing fast and very suitable for conditions of dry land.

In addition to the advantages of high coverage, soil improvement, erosion control, trees also have high use value.

Plants can make food for people like fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, processing dry foods, canned food and functional foods; making animal feed such as goats, sheep, cows .; as a raw material for processing pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, preventing and treating digestive, obesity, cardiovascular diseases .

In addition, trees can also be used as raw materials to produce industrial foods such as rubber, latex, waterproofing, corrosion.

Nopal cactus is imported and studied at the Center for Experimental Biology (Institute of Technology Application).
