Researchers on the Nautilus expedition vessel of the Ocean Exploration Trust recorded the scene of the jellyfish Halitrephes Maasi moving at a depth of 1,225m in the waters off Socorro Island, Mexico, and International Business Times yesterday reported.

Halitrephes Maasi is a deep-sea jellyfish belonging to the family Halicreatidae, often discovered at a depth of 1,200-1,500m. This rare creature has only been seen more than 10 times.

In the video, the animal has a beautiful and brilliant appearance that moves gently to look very much like fireworks.

"Channels that transfer nutrients through the dome-shaped body of the jellyfish form a radiating star, reflecting light from the ROV Hercules probe with bright yellow and pink markings , " the team explained.
