The first purple jellyfish on the planet

After discovering the strange creature, the beach lifeguards contacted scientists from Underwater World research organization. According to the team, this organism may be an unknown species in the world.
Dr. Lisa Gershwin, a member of the research team, said that the individual may belong to the thysanostoma species. But usually, this is a brown or beige species.
The Guardian said the marine biologists are still trying to determine the name of the jellyfish, but its strange colors are embarrassing."The color difference raises the question of whether this jellyfish has any other characteristics , " said Gershwin, an expert at CSIRO's research center.
Thysanostoma jellyfish are rarely seen in Australian waters, especially the southeastern coast of Queensland, because they prefer to live in warmer tropical waters.
