At the end of October, a devil-faced grouper, about 30cm long, had a strange yellow color, caught the net of a fishing vessel fishing off Iwami in Totori province, Japan.
Yellow-faced ghouls are extremely rare.
It is currently being cared for and displayed at the Sanmiyaki Aquarium, Totori Province. According to a marine researcher at the institute, demon-faced grouper is usually only yellow-brown and black.
Scientists are studying the cause of this fish's unusual pigment.
There have been tens of thousands of curious people coming to the Institute of Oceanography to admire this fish. Someone commented, ' This is probably a gift from the sea given to the people of Japan, maybe a good sign will come to this country? '.
