Caution should be exercised when taking Calcium tablets
A study by German scientists published in Heart magazine shows that calcium supplementation should be very careful. Even experts recommend, should have a balanced diet, calcium richness is much better than supplementing calcium tablets.
The team at the German Cancer Research Center followed 23,980 people for more than a decade to compare the number of people suffering from heart attacks in the group taking calcium supplements and the non-drinking group. As a result, of the 15,959 people who do not take calcium supplements, only 851 have heart attacks. However, the rate of heart attack in the calcium intake group was 86% higher.
According to experts, this study indicates that people who take calcium may be at higher risk for a heart attack, but that doesn't mean that calcium pills cause heart attacks.
Therefore, further research is needed to determine the relationship between calcium supplementation and cardiovascular health. Currently, taking calcium supplements is still the best way to overcome osteoporosis.
