Charge the phone with a smart seat

Some parks in Boston (USA) will soon receive smart benches with solar power systems that provide power charging and environmental monitoring sensors.

These chairs are manufactured by MIT Media Lab. It's called Soofa, with its seat design featuring a solar panel, a pair of chargers for smart phones or similar devices, and a sensor system that monitors the data. Environmental issues such as air quality and noise pollution. These data will be sent to the center of the Soofa project via internet.

Soofa seating is scheduled to be in the Parks: Titus Sparrow Park, Boston Common, Rose Kennedy Greenway and many other locations in the United States. Boston city officials are inviting people to express their opinions by sending an email or text message or clicking on a location on an online map of their desired location. Residents also have the opportunity to name the chair by visiting the Soofa website.
