Chickens lay giant eggs on their birthdays

A British couple were surprised to find their hens lay a giant egg three times larger than normal eggs.

Couple Steve and Annie Egginton and his wife, living in Chew Magna, Somerset (England), were surprised to find their Jessica hen laying a super-sized egg. It happened on the opening day of the London Olympics and also Annie's 59th birthday.

The oversized egg produced by a 1-year-old Jessica hens weighs about 177 grams, 3 times the size of a normal egg weighing only 59 grams / fruit. 60-year-old Couple Steve said that although he has been raising chickens for more than 30 years, he has never seen a big egg like this.

'I've been raising chickens for about 30 years now but I've never seen such a big chicken egg,' Steve said on the Daily Mail.

Instead of holding back, the couple used a giant egg to make a scrambled egg to eat with bread in the morning. Steve said the giant egg also tastes as good as a normal egg.

However, the weight of the giant egg laid out by Jessica Jessica was not enough to surpass the Guinness World Record for the heaviest chicken egg, weighing up to 325 grams.
