That is the research result of the research "Research on creating and developing a number of egg-colored feathered chicken lines, high-quality meat yield direction" by Thuy Phuong Poultry Research Center (Animal Husbandry Institute , Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) implemented from 2007-2012.

Project leader Phung Duc Tien said that the project has benefited society more than 1,000 billion VND, creating jobs for more than 146 thousand workers, contributing to sustainable development, increasing income for farmers, step by step production restructuring in agriculture and rural areas.

Use available materials

With the aim of bringing livestock to grow fast and sustainably, on January 16, 2008, the Prime Minister approved the Livestock Development Strategy to 2020. In order to achieve the target, first of all there must be many children. high-yielding varieties. However, in the context of hard-to-grow industrial chickens, domestic chicken breeds are low-yielding, to develop color chicken in the previous years, our country has imported some chicken breeds (such as Tam Hoang Jiangcun , Tam Hoang 822, Luong Phuong) from China; Kabir chicken for raising with relatively satisfactory results, but it is only commercial chicken and parent chicken. If developed, every year, it is necessary to spend huge amounts of money to import broiler chickens, on the other hand, it is not active in breeding animals and can bring pathogens into the country.

From the fact that Thuy Phuong Poultry Research Center (Center) has chosen to focus on research and development of high-yield chicken lines on available materials. After 3 years of experimentation, the authors have created a color chicken breed consisting of chicken lines for meat and eggs with high quality yield, technical and economic indicators reaching the same level in the world and the region, helping the livestock industry to take initiative in breeding animals, suitable to the conditions of each region of the country and at the same time restricting epidemics by regions for poultry.

Actively source seed

According to the chairman of the project, Phung Duc Tien, the research and creation of chicken breeds have so far created only breeds by simple breeding methods such as chicken Rhoderi, chicken Goldline, Ross 208, Tam Hoang , Kabir or only exploited in the heterosexuals in the offspring without creating a complete breeding system, so these varieties are unstable, easily degraded and quickly outdated.

Overcoming the disadvantages of previous research topics, the topic "Researching on creating and developing some egg-colored feathered chicken lines, high-quality yielded meat direction" of the authors of the Center used Using modern methods of genetic selection by analyzing genetic parameters, using components analysis methods with data obtained from the mating system to determine heritability The selected lines of chickens were selected according to the pyramidal system.

From the research results created at the centers of the Center, the research team has built models and since then expanded in production. Specifically, the research results have been received quickly and strongly by farmers, farm owners, family farms, domestic and foreign enterprises, and production establishments in all economic sectors. wide, create large commodity products in the country, promote poultry industry in our country to develop, solve jobs, and actively restructure plant and animal breeds.

In particular, the research shows that the survival rate reaches 94-97.65% of the technical indicators of chicken lines equivalent in the world and the region, thereby proactively producing seed for the market. school (compared to the price of imported chicken feathered broiler chickens currently on the market, the price is 40,000 VND / head, the price of domestic chicken chickens is only 15,000 VND / head). It is known that from 2008 to 2011, the Center has transferred about 600,000 meat broiler chickens to produce nearly 70 million commercial chickens for most provinces in the country . Especially, with quality and trade. Chicken shops of the Center, JSC (Thailand) and JAPFA Company (Indonesia) signed a contract with the Center to order broodstock every year in large numbers.

Dr. Phung Duc Tien is pleased to say that the project results have made an important contribution to the development of poultry production in our country and are a driving force for the implementation of the strategy of livestock development strategy to 2020.
