The forest vegetation of Con Dao National Park is typical of the tropical island forest ecosystem, expressed through the ecosystems of evergreen broadleaf forests, semi-deciduous broadleaf forests, bamboo forests and coastal mangrove forests.
Along with the conservation of natural forest ecosystems on the island, scientific research and conservation of some plant species have also been paid attention to and focused on over the past decades, with research and application topics such as: planting mangrove forests on sand and dead corals on some islands; reforestation after the Linda storm in 1997; research on the ecological characteristics and propagation of the Red Coc tree (an endangered and rare plant species) first found in Con Dao National Park. and many other conservation and research projects.
Besides conservation and scientific research, Con Dao National Park also focuses on preserving and promoting the value of trees, most of which are ancient trees, existing for a long time and containing great values in culture, education, history, society, ecology, etc.
