Children should be barefoot in the sand
The feet of children under 5 years of age grow rapidly so they need to be free and comfortable. During the summer break, give your child barefoot, especially on the sand. This is even recommended by foot specialists.
Dr. Eric Prou, a member of the French Society of Foot Health (UFSPP) explained that giving bare feet helps to strengthen the foot muscles. This helps the baby's feet adapt to rugged and developed soil, which is healthy.
In general, the baby's feet need to have maximum freedom of movement until about 4 years old. According to Dr. Prou, the muscles and tendons of the feet develop before this age.'So when buying shoes for babies, do not choose cramped shoes that prevent the growth of foot muscles'.
