China faces serious water pollution
Chinese scientists warn that in addition to air pollution, China is also facing serious water pollution.
According to statistics, about 1,700 pollution incidents occur in China each year and 40% of rivers in this country are seriously polluted.
Zhao Fei Hong, a water researcher from Beijing Medical Association, said that among more than 100 rivers in the current capital, only two or three rivers can be used to supply water. The remaining rivers, if not dried up, are also polluted by wastewater.
Recently, Ms. Zhao Fei Hong revealed that for 20 years she and her husband, also a water researcher, do not drink water from Beijing's water supply system.
In China's Shanxi Province, a chemical polluted river has recently occurred that affected the domestic water supply.
The provincial government leader apologized to the people and some related officials were removed from office.
