China prepares to export nuclear reactors

Since 2013, China will export nuclear reactors.

Starting from nuclear reactors imported from France in the 1980s, Chinese engineers developed their own larger kiln systems for export purposes since 2013.

Zhang Shanming , chairman of Guangdong China Nuclear Power Group (CGNPC), presented the company's future export potential at the International Nuclear Symposium in Beijing this week.

The conference was organized by the World Nuclear Association and the China Nuclear Energy Association.

After importing two 900 MWe pressure water reactors for the Dai A Bay (nuclear power plant) nuclear power plant, CGNPC engineers have embarked on a product development program designed for CPR-1000 .

The first CPR-1000 reactor began operating in Phase II of the Austrian Austrian NP in September. Currently, another 16 are under construction and many more are planned for construction.

Mr. Zhang said it is expected that by 2013 there will be a significant improvement in design related to some areas of intellectual property held by Avera and a reactive log design of Generation III with the name ACPR-1000 . At that time, CGNPC could dominate the market of other countries.

The current CPR-1000 designs are in the middle of the II and III generation reactors, with digital equipment and control systems, operating time of 60 years. The standard construction period is 52 months and the cost per Chinese kiln so far is less than 10,000 yuan (1,500 USD) per kW.
