China promotes recycling of industrial waste

On March 2, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China announced a plan to recycle 7 billion tons of solid industrial waste in the 2011-2015 period in an effort to reduce environmental degradation.

This goal is nearly double the amount of solid industrial waste recycled in China's 11th Five-Year Plan (2006-2010).

In the new plan, China will restore 350,000 acres (equivalent to 23.33ha) of land previously occupied by industrial waste, activities that are expected to significantly improve the ecological environment of the country.

It is expected that by 2015, industrial waste recycling will reach 1.6 billion tons / year, reaching a high utilization rate of 50%.

Recycling will focus on the amount of solid industrial waste that has a great impact on the environment such as ash or soil after screening for coal ore.

China, the world's second-largest economy, is still consuming a large amount of fuel to serve its rapid growth and thus the country faces serious environmental challenges.

At the end of 2010, Beijing pledged to seek, develop science and technology and strive to build an energy-friendly, environmentally friendly society.

In the 2006-2010 period, China reclaimed 3.6 billion tons of solid waste and reclaimed 180,000 acres of land that previously contained waste.
