Close up of super bikes with a speed of 144km / h
When I first saw it, few would have imagined that Arion1 Velocipede was a bicycle. More surprisingly, this capsule-shaped bike is 40 times more aerodynamic than the Bugatti Veyron supercar.
When I first saw it, few would have imagined that Arion1 Velocipede was a bicycle. More surprisingly, this capsule-shaped bike is 40 times more aerodynamic than the Bugatti Veyron supercar.
Do you think this is a bicycle?Arion1 Velocipede will break the cycling speed record in 2015
With this impressive design, the Velocipede has a maximum speed of up to 145km / h and can also generate enough electricity for a conventional apartment. Currently, the Arion1 Velocipede is being developed to become the fastest bike in human history.
Arion1 Velocipede is a product of ULVT, a group of students studying at Liverpool University, England. ULVT is currently raising the ambition to help ULVT overcome a record of 133.7km / h by TU Delft's bike and VU University Amsterdam in September last year.
Arion1 will be produced and put into actual testing in May 5/2015. This bizarre bike will be tested at the Human Media Competition held in Battle Mountain, Nevada, USA in September 2015.
Holding the record of car speed, the Bugatti Veyron is 40 times less aerodynamic than Arion1.
"This is not a normal bike that you will use for walking on the street. The operator is almost horizontal, near the ground as much as possible. This is a" bike ride " , Ben Hogan, a 22-year-old student and also the captain of ULVT said.
The shell of Arion1 is made of very light carbon fiber material, while the "optimal" shape of this car will help Arion1 to "tear the wind" to go faster. The bizarre body of the Arion 1 increases the aerodynamics of the body and minimizes air resistance - which is the biggest obstacle to speed.
Arion1's design uses the same design philosophy of an airplane wing: "reverse water" design to help surf in the fastest possible space. The head of this bike will be as small as possible, and the driver's near horizontal position will help reduce air resistance to the lowest level.
From the front, no one thinks this is a bicycle
More specifically, the position of the cyclist will be only 13cm from the ground. This person will have to generate 700 watts of energy to help Arion1 reach its maximum speed.
Arion1 has zero emissions, weighs up to nearly 25kg and has an energy efficiency of 98.4%. If realizing the goal, this car will have twice the high speed of the current conventional bicycle.

Mr. Philippa Oldham, head of transportation at the Institute of Mechanical Experts, said: "To achieve the speed goal, they will have to ensure that everything is perfect, from aerodynamics to the size of the cake. The introduction of a human-powered device to the speed of 145km / h is an extremely difficult task, but with the right direction this is absolutely possible ".
The bike will also need enough space to accommodate the driver, the chassis and the gearbox are powerful enough to overcome the world record."This project is not simple, but at this time, only 6 months of work, we have achieved a very favorable milestone".
