It has the same design as racing bikes but the Turbo is equipped with batteries as well as electric motors to help it reach speeds of up to 45km / h. Turbo sales have not yet been released, but Specialized said it would send 50 electric bicycles to dealers across Europe for a test drive before officially selling it.
The advantage of Turbo over other electric bikes lies in its maximum speed. However, its speed of 45km / h also cause trouble when it is forbidden to sell in the United States, and can add other countries because the speed is too fast. Turbo is the result of Specialized development and manufacture of 3 years. The power will be transmitted to the rear wheels of the Turbo through Direct Drive 250-watt motor.
Bicycle battery Li-on 432Wh is located in the lower frame of the car. Specialized Turbo also has a remote control that allows the user to turn on and off the front and rear LED lights. A screen will show the battery status and some other parameters of the car. The manufacturer said it would take about two hours to fully charge the battery for Turbo.
In addition, Turbo also has an option button when the button is turned on, the energy when the user presses the brake will be converted into electricity to charge the bike. Noteworthy when both front and rear disc Magura are made from carbon fiber for high durability. Specialized has not offered the official price for Turbo.
