According to Science Trends, the Juno spacecraft of NASA's Aerospace Agency sent pictures of Jupiter to unravel many mysteries on the planet.
Infrared images taken by Juno flying around Jupiter's orbit showed giant tornadoes, arranged in special shapes at the poles of the planet.
At the North Pole, a big storm consists of 8 tornadoes around. Meanwhile, at the South Pole, another storm is surrounded by 5 similar whirlwinds.
Tornadoes seem to be close to each other without signs of merging. Scientists still do not understand the cause of this incident. They are also headache to learn about how the tornado started and developed according to the current configuration. The North Pole has an octagonal structure, the South Pole has a pentagonal shape.
Earlier, astronomers discovered a giant hexagonal cloud pattern in the north pole of 1988. However, this is the first time that research groups have discovered the tornado arranged. according to polygon shape as above.
JIRAM infrared cameras and JunoCam cameras on the JUNO spacecraft recorded special images as it passed huge air masses in August 2016 to March 2017.
The JUNO spacecraft was launched into Jupiter in 2016. It made the journey about 4,000 km, taking 2 hours to travel from the extreme to the equator. It is expected to continue its mission until the end of the year.
