Cold to minus 43.5 degrees Celsius in China, boiling water to freeze immediately

Residents in northern China are experiencing extreme temperatures when cold prices drop to minus 43.5 degrees Celsius, creating a thin layer of mist in the sky.

According to the Daily Mail, videos spread on social networks and media showed hot water splashing and freezing immediately.

The Chinese government has announced that the temperature has dropped below minus 40 degrees Celsius since December 6, marking the lowest temperature this winter in Heilongjiang Province.

The provincial meteorological agency posted an orange cold warning, the second highest level under a red warning, warning people not to go out at this time.

Chinese media said harsh cold conditions could have a negative impact on local agriculture, transport and cargo transport.

In addition to frost freezing, cold temperatures also make the outdoor vision drop sharply, only about 100m. Vehicles traveling on the road must open the lights in foggy conditions and drive at a very slow speed, in order to prevent accidents.

Freezing fog usually occurs when water vapor, in cold conditions below minus 40º C, turns into crystals. The city of Mohe is one of the coldest areas in China with the lowest temperature being minus 52.3 degrees Celsius.

Winter in Mohe usually lasts from October to April next year, with temperatures always below 0 degrees C for 7 months every year.
