Cyprus hunts for a mysterious
The story of a strange animal living at the Kouris Dam was mentioned by Cypriot people three years ago when the media reported a crocodile was thrown into the dam. Recently, rumors were rife again when people accidentally captured the picture of a "monster".

There have been countless encounters between humans and the 'monster' that often appears in deep water areas. The local newspaper immediately gave it the name 'Cyprus's Loch Ness monster'. A resident said, "I saw it with my own eyes, I can't mistake it."
With more and more rumors going on, the Ministry of Fisheries of the Republic of Cyprus came to investigate. The fact that an official in the ministry affirmed that they are actively searching for the "monster" further made the people believe that this place is the home of a giant snake.
According to the press, the authorities will lure the monster up from the water by using raw meat or chicken as bait. However, in the last few days, efforts to search for "Cyprus monster" have been hampered by the rain, people are expected to continue their "monster hunting" work tomorrow.
Mr. Savvas Sava, a local official told reporters yesterday that if the monster is captured, it will attract a lot of tourists. Therefore authorities need to quickly upgrade and build infrastructure to welcome curious 'gods'.
