Astronomers from Australia, Germany, Switzerland and Finland have discovered this amazing astronomical phenomenon in a group of 250 galaxies 70 million light-years away.
The galaxy is thought to have a newly discovered rectangle
'In the universe around us, most galaxies exist in three forms: spherical, disc-shaped or uneven,' said Professor Alister Graham from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia, adding that the bank Rectangle HA is very rare.
The galaxy has a special shape that has been captured by the Japanese Subaru telescope. However, astronomers suspect that this galaxy may not really be rectangular. They thought it might look like a bulging disk, like a short cylinder.
The outer edge of this galaxy is rotating at a speed of 100,000km / h.
"It is possible that the galaxy is formed from a collision between two spiral galaxies" - Professor Duncan Forbes of Swinburne University said.
