Detecting huge crocodiles, swallowing people

Researcher Christopher Brochu of the University of Iowa has discovered that a huge new crocodile species can swallow people who once lived in East Africa.

>>>Discover an ancient crocodile, 11 meters long

According to the professor, it is the largest known crocodile, with a length of over 27 feet (more than 8 meters), bigger than the largest crocodile ever recorded in Nile with a length of less than 21 feet. (less than 7 meters). The rest of all crocodiles are much smaller.

The new species is named Crocodylus thorbjarnarsoni (based on the famous crocodile expert John Thorbjarnarson) who lived in Kenya 2-4 million years ago, similar to the crocodile crocodile in the Nile but has a larger mass. Checking this crocodile fossil at the National Museum in Nairobi, Kenya shows that it is a giant crocodile and needs four men to lift the fossil.

Although there is no evidence of this clash between humans and crocodiles, Brochu said, it is possible that alligators eat all humans, because crocodiles often eat anything when they are waiting in the water, at that time people (only 4 feet tall) and other animals needed water.

With this finding, it was confirmed that the giant Nile crocodile was quite young and appeared after Crocodylus thorbjarnarsoni. Thus the Nile crocodile is not an ancient species or "living fossil" as many believe.
