The US Aerospace Agency (NASA) today announced the discovery of the Kepler Space Telescope about more than 4,000 planets outside the solar system.

According to Space, NASA today will announce new findings related to the search for extrasolar planets made by the Kepler space telescope , in an online seminar.

"The extrasolar planet, especially the small world like Earth, is in the science fiction field just 21 years ago. Today, astronomers are standing on top of a search for a something they dreamed of a long time ago, it was another Earth, " NASA announced.

Kepler Space Telescope worth $ 600 million went into operation since March 2009. It is the task of studying the diversity of planetary systems in the Milky Way , while searching for Earth-like rocky planets orbiting the parent star at the right distance, making liquid water possible forming living areas.

Telescope to explore the planet through the " transit" method . When the planet moves in front of the star, it will block part of the star's light. The telescope will observe small changes in star brightness to detect new planets. In total, Kepler discovered 4,661 planet candidates, of which 1,028 were confirmed by scientists.

In May 2013, the Kepler Space Telescope ended the first phase of the mission, when the second steering wheel of the four reacting steering wheel failed. This is the same part as the gyroscope, which helps maintain Kepler's position in space.
