Detecting snow on Mars

With data collected from NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO), scientists claim to have found very clear evidence that there is 'Dry Ice' , also known as carbon. Dioxide is frozen, on the red planet.

"These are the first clear findings about carbon dioxide snow clouds ," said the lead author, Paul Hayne, who works at NASA's Jet Laboratory. 'These clouds are thick enough to cause snow to fall on the surface'.

According to scientists, Mars is the only place to have Snow in the Solar System.

The report has just been published in the Journal of Planet Research.
