Discover 200 new creatures

Scientists from the International Conservation Organization (CI) in cooperation with Papua New Guinea's Biological Research Institute conducted a survey and looked for new organisms in the forests around the two Nakanai mountains. and Muller in Papua New Guinea in 2009.

As a result, the survey team discovered more than 200 new organisms in this area, including: 2 mammal species, 24 species of frogs, 9 species of plants, nearly 100 insect species such as dragonflies, crickets, ants and about 100 species of spiders.

Among the species found, most notably the beautiful white-tailed rat , the long snout frog , the pink-eyed leaf bug . Scientists assess these findings to be of great importance before the UN conference on biodiversity will take place in Japan next week.
