Discover ancient treasures in Greece
Archaeologists in Greece have discovered a large tomb of Roman times containing many gold ornaments, pottery and bronze gifts. This tomb site is located near the town of Fiscardo in the Kefalonia region, containing 5 graves including a tomb with a dome and a stone sarcophagus.
The authorities said it was fortunate that the thieves did not detect the complex. Particularly the domed grave is shaped like a house, with small stone doors and this door still works well when rotating on stone vertical shafts.
The Greek Ministry of Culture also announced that, in a nearby area, archaeologists at the same time discovered traces of a relic that is probably a small theater with four rows of stone seats.
During the previous excavation also in this area, the rest of the houses, complex baths, and a cemetery were discovered, all dating back to Roman times - between 146 BC and 330 AD.
