Discover sleep monitoring technology devices
Improving your sleep habits will make your life better, in which how to keep track of whether you are getting enough sleep is not what many people want.
Although experts recommend that you leave the device out of the bedroom, the phone is still a useful tool if you want to monitor sleep. It can also be used as an alternative to an alarm clock. For sleep monitoring by phone, you have the following measures:
Use sleep app
There are some applications that use phone acceleration or ultrasonic waves emitted from the phone to detect motion. All you have to do is place your phone on the mattress next to you. Every morning, you can see how long you sleep, and how much you move while you sleep, indicating whether you are getting enough sleep.
Some notable sleep monitoring applications are: SleepScore, Sleep Cycle or Sleep Time are available for both Android and iOS.
Use iPhone
In Clock application, Bedtime feature allows you to set the bedtime and wake up. After setting up, the phone will alert you when it is time to go to bed to get the sleep you desire.

When this feature is turned on, the phone will pay attention to the moment you stop using it at night and when you reach the phone in the morning to estimate the number of hours you sleep. You can see that data in the Sleep Analysis section of the Health application.
However, it is not a perfect solution when the phone can fall off the bed during sleep due to the movement of the mattress, and the phone can also overheat if it is placed under the blanket.
Health monitoring device
For a better idea of how well you sleep, it is best to use a health monitoring device. Many of these devices have been equipped with sleep monitoring features, including some from Fitbit, Apple Watch, Motiv Ring and all similar devices. They can effectively monitor sleep by measuring your movements throughout the night.

But keep in mind that since these devices are not specifically designed for sleep, check their accuracy. To ensure the health monitor is not overactive or underestimating how long you have been out, use the sleep app.
Smart bed and dedicated sensor
If you're really serious about sleep monitoring, try buying a smart mattress or a dedicated sleep sensor, such as: iFit Sleep HR or Eight Sleep Tracker.
Sensors placed under or on the mattress are used to track movement, plus heart rate and respiration. They use that data to tell you how long it takes you to sleep. While the smart mattress does the same thing, it also comes with cooling, heating and other advanced features.

The main benefit of these devices is that there is a dedicated monitor so the accuracy is higher. It also does not need to force users to wear a wristband while sleeping or worry it will run out of battery during the night.
