According to marine biologists, the "sea monster" Mr. Chengzh caught was probably the whale shark . If it is confirmed that whale sharks, Mr. Chengzh will not sell it because under Chinese law, whale sharks are on the list of animals to be protected.

Whale sharks are considered to be the most gentle of the sharks. They often live deep in warm waters and eat only plankton.

In February 2012, fishermen in fishing port of Karachi, Pakistan also discovered a whale shark longer than 12m and weighed 6-7 tons.

She was towed into the fishing port of Karachi after being found dead in Arab waters 10 days ago.
