Leading the research, Professor Tomasz Sulej said he found two types of turtle fossils at the landfill near the town of Poreba, Jurassic Highlands, Poland, dating back about 215 million years, the last stage of Triassic.

After 15 minutes of excavation in the mud at the landfill, he discovered the fossil of a turtle belonging to the Proterochersis robusta turtle living hundreds of millions of years ago. The remaining fossil has not yet identified the identity of any turtle.

However, this fossil is appreciated, after performing some tests, scientists think it is the oldest turtle in the world and has never appeared anywhere in the world.

Fossils found include: tortoise shells, vertebrae and vertebrae of vertebrae along with limb bones. Although this fossil does not carry organic matter for DNA testing, its structure holds an extremely valuable clue about the origin of the species.
