Discover the planet's most planetary star

Scientists discovered a star about 127 light-years from Earth with more planets than the Solar System.

According to research by scientists at the University of Hertfordshire (UK), HD 10180 - a Sun-like star of the Hydrus constellation - may include nine planets orbiting it. If this finding is correct, HD 10180 will be the most planetary star system in the universe. The current record belongs to our Solar System with 8 official planets.

The HD 10180 star was first discovered in 2010. At that time, scientists confirmed that the star has five official planets and two planets have not yet officially revolved. However, the team analyzed the data and discovered that the star system could survive two more planets.

'Our findings show clear evidence that HD 10180 is the most planetary star system in the universe - possibly more than our Solar System , ' said Dr. Mikko Tuomi, head of research. save, tell National Geographic.

Scientists believe that two newly discovered planets are super-Earth - planets larger in diameter than Earth with uneven surfaces. One of the two planets is 65 times larger than Earth, the other planet is 1.3 times larger than Earth.

The five official planets of the HD 10180 star system are also identified to be 12 to 25 times larger than Earth, comparable to Neptune and Uranus. Meanwhile, 2 unofficial planets also have sizes larger than 1.9 and 5.1 times our planet.

"Planets in the HD 10180 star system seem to have very hot temperatures and thin atmospheres because they spin too close to the host star ," said Dr. Mikko Tuomi.
