Discovery of architectural ruins 1,400 years ago
A team of researchers from Spain's Polytechnic University in Spain discovered a dense forest of Chilonche archaeological sites, north of Guatemala, a human-face architectural decoration with stucco dating back over 1,400 years.
Mr. Gaspar Munos Cosme, the leader of the research team, said that this is a large architectural ruins of 3m height, 3m longer, plastered with stucco and still relatively intact, even retain some color Its original.
According to Gaspar Munos Cosme, the ruins of this ancient Mayan civilization were discovered by accident when scientists conducted a number of studies at the ancient buildings of Chilonche ruins.
According to archaeologists, the architectural decoration may have been placed in an important city in the ancient Mayan civilization, dating from 1,400 years to 1,700 years ago.
Unlike other famous Mayan cities in Guatemala like Tikal and El Mirador, Chileanche is still a mysterious place for archaeologists.
Scientists are now expanding their research in the hope that a second similarly decorated architectural block could be found because ancient buildings are often built according to symmetrical designs.
