According to Kotaku, Yamamoto Swimsuit Company in Osaka, Japan, has introduced diving products and undergarments that are resistant to radiation.
Made of carbon-composite rubber, the manufacturer claims that their product can block nearly 100% of harmful beta rays.
Beta particles can alter the structure of molecules, resulting in cancer and death.
The diving suit only weighs 3kg, can be stretched but the seams are completely sealed to prevent contamination of water. The product will be available in the market next month.
In addition to diving gear, Yamamoto produces underwear based on lead to prevent harmful gamma rays. It weighs about 3-4kg.
The cost of diving suits is 105,000 yen ($ 1,072) and the cost of underwear is 80,850 yen ($ 825).
