Japanese company successfully produces underwear using fabrics made from rice wine
Quite surprisingly, traditional Japanese rice wine, or sake, can become a special ingredient to produce women's underwear.
For more than a decade now, Swiss underwear manufacturer Triumph has designed a variety of special bras that honor the trend in Japanese society. And now, the company is continuing to innovate the fashion industry with a completely new fabric made from sake.
According to Triump, the new material contains extracts of sake residue during the Lees fermentation (Sake Kasu) method. As a byproduct which is no longer effective, alcohol residues have a great effect on moisture absorption, good heat retention. When combined with fabric, the residue will create a fabric that can absorb sweat well and keep warm in winter.
Triumph's new range of underwear is called ' Warm Inner Joppari Moisturizing Inner' . In it, the word Joppari refers to the type of alcohol residue in the process of producing sake which is not sweet. This by-product is supplied mainly from Rokka Shuzou, a brewery in Ho Chi Minh City. Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture.
Joppari residue from sake increased significantly within just one year of brewing. They create amino acids that are beneficial for women's skin care. Triump manufacturer has cleverly put these amino acids into the fabric process, making the fabric soft, smooth and better moisturized.
The company uses the method of soaking the fabric slowly, so that the excellent nutrients from the residue can still be stored in the fabric longer even when washing many times.
Currently the unique underwear product line made from traditional rice wine of Triump is priced ranging from 33.8 to 43.5 USD (about 768 thousand VND - nearly 1 million VND) with many options of long-sleeved or pants badger, red, beige, gray or purple. The product has just officially launched in Japan since September 20.
