Taiwan successfully developed multicolored rice

Under the support of the Taiwanese government (China), the Hualien County Agricultural Research and Development Station has successfully developed different colored rice than the current ordinary rice, which is mainly white.

According to the network, focustaiwan.tw, the research station spent seven years to develop technology that adds natural color to rice using vegetables.

Scientists at this research station said that colored rice varieties can create more excitement and appetite for consumers, especially children.

Since ancient times, Southeast Asian and Indian countries have used natural colors such as turmeric and grasses to color rice.

Taiwan's research station emphasizes the use of natural colors of vegetables to produce colorful rice that is 'very safe and makes good taste'.

Color rice not only aims to serve families, but also towards restaurants that want creative dishes. In addition, this type of food can be used to make passes for guests.

The Hualien County Agricultural Research and Development Station said that the technology initially only allowed the production of colored rice in small quantities. However, after a period of development, the research station has created technology to mass produce this type of rice.

After being granted a patent, the station transferred the technology to the private sector. Every day, this area can produce about 2 tons of colored rice.
