Drop two rare langur individuals to the forest

In the afternoon of May 19, the Forest Protection Department of Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province, said that two individuals of gray-shanked douc langur were released back to the forest by the forest rangers.

According to the Nui Thanh District Forest Protection Department, two individuals of gray-shanked douc langur belonging to rare and precious animal species in the red book have been released to the forest in the area of ​​Hoc Bien forest (Tam My Tay and Nui Thanh communes). This is defined as the area where douc langurs are living.

Both of these rare and precious langurs were resided in My Dong, Tam Son and Nui Thanh villages by Le Van Binh and Dang Van Quang in the morning of May 17 in the area of ​​the My Dong forest. . After knowing this was a rare animal, Mr. Binh voluntarily handed it over to the authorities.

It is known that the gray-shanked douc langur, scientific name Pygathrix cinerea, is an animal recorded in the Vietnam and international Red Data Book, which is scattered in some forests in the Central - Highlands region.

Currently, Quang Nam mountain forest area still has many rare and precious gray-shanked douc langurs that are being strictly protected.
