Drop a douc langur to the forest

Buying a wounded douc langur from hunting for VND 3 million, Mr. Tran Van Dung handed over to Nghia Hanh district FPD in Quang Ngai to release to the forest this morning.

This langur weighs 7 kg, with black-and-white-gray fur. This is a rare animal in the red book of Vietnam, belonging to extremely dangerous group at risk of extinction.

The douc langur lives wild in the forests of Central Vietnam from Quang Nam to Gia Lai.

Dung - a resident of Nghia Hanh district - said he bought the animal in July in Quang Nam province for VND 3 million. At that time it was injured due to being hunted. After several months of care, the animal's health has now recovered.
