Egypt discovered one of the oldest villages in the Nile Delta
The ancient village was discovered in the area of Tell el-Samara, in the Neolithic period, which existed to the second dynasty of ancient Egypt.
On September 2, the Egyptian Antiquities Department announced that a delegation of Egyptian and French experts discovered one of the oldest villages in the country's Nile Delta.

The expert team excavated the remnants of the new Stone Age settlement in Tell el-Samara area, which existed to the second dynasty of ancient Egypt. French archaeologist Frederic Gio, head of the archaeological delegation, said the remains of animal bones, remaining plants, pots and stone tools were discovered by the research team. This also demonstrates that communities have been stable in the Nile Delta region around 5000 BC.
The mission came to work in Tell el-Samara area in Dakahlyia province of Egypt since 2015.
Another unique settlement discovered during the Neolithic period is the town of Sais in the western Nile Delta, which was excavated by the Egyptian Exploration Association.
