Electric car sets record for fastest on land

The electric car, nicknamed the 'Little Giant' by Team Vesco and reVolt Systems, set a new top speed record in October.

The car accelerated gradually to a record speed.

The electric car driven by Eric Ritter reached a one-way top speed of 574.5km/h and an average speed of 568km/h on the Bonneville Salt Flats track in Wyoming on October 1. Although this speed is 19km/h faster than the current world record, to be recognized, the car needs to complete the race in both directions with runs spaced within 60 minutes, something Team Vesco cannot do. Okay. However, the above speed still helped Little Giant win the national record in the US.

"The speed is amazing! The car rushes forward like a monster with tremendous torque and it doesn't stop. I think the car can even reach speeds of up to 643km/h."

"Little Giant" is powered by 1,152 blocks of prismatic lithium-ion batteries.

The Team Vesco team in Rockville, Utah is known for its high speed records. In addition to collaborating with reVolt Systems in Oceanside, California on this project . "Little Giant" is powered by 1,152 blocks of prismatic lithium-ion batteries. The carriage uses a pair of modified and powered Tesla motors. Greg Peek, engineer at American Track Roadster, is responsible for the design and construction of the complex powertrain that connects the motors and sends power to the wheels. The car has an aerodynamic design like a fighter for one person.

The land speed record has not been broken since October 15, 1997, set by the supersonic car Thrust SCC when running at 1,277km/h. For all-electric vehicles, the previous record was held by Ohio University's Venturi Buckeye Bullet 3, which reached 549km/h in 2016. According to AutoEvolution, Team Vesco wants to set a higher record for electric vehicles. and their target is 643km/h.
