Elon Musk: without aliens, more and more planets are occupied

A new study of the Fermi paradox shows that perhaps our species is really lonely in the universe. It sounds sad, but CEO SpaceX thinks that's why humans should go to Mars and beyond.

Elon Musk really wants us to get out of the Earth and explore the universe, even though there is no waiting to welcome humanity.

People often assume that there must be a smart life somewhere in the universe, because this universe is so vast. However, we have explored innumerable spaces with the most advanced technologies for decades without finding any evidence of them. This contradiction is what people call .

A recent study has reviewed this famous paradox under a different perspective, assuming that aliens must exist somewhere in the universe. By looking at the fact a little more about what we know and don't know about the universe, research has found that it's really our ability to be the only intelligent creatures in the universe . pretty big.

"We calculated a fairly significant probability that this single human being in this galaxy, and perhaps in the whole universe, could be observed" - the research group from the University of Humanity Future Institute. Oxford concluded so.

Upon learning of this discovery, CEO Spacex - one of the pioneers in exploring Mars - did not appear surprised. According to him, that is why we must become a civilization that explores the universe and extends life to other planets.

When Oxford researchers did some calculations, they found that our ability to be the only civilization in the galaxy is between 53 and 99.6%. Our ability to be the only civilization in the observed universe is between 39 and 85%.

Elon Musk tweeted: "Any possibility that we are truly alone is a new impetus for extending life out of the Earth." He also said that "we are basically a life manager and a binding obligation . to ensure its continuity".

One of SpaceX's goals is to turn humanity into a multi-planet race. The company began developing a super-large rocket to bring brave adventurers to the Moon, Mars, and even deeper in the solar system.

Musk has become the face of this new space exploration movement, but it is certainly not a new concept. Sci-fi novels, from Jules Verne, to Star Trek, show the future that SpaceX is hoping to build.

Contemporary planetary scientists like John Lewis from the University of Arizona and the space industry also support a sort of Evident Destruction treaty when it comes to bringing humanity everywhere in the solar system. In his 1997 book Mining the Sky , Lewis envisioned the exploitation of natural resources from asteroids and solar power stations in space to support humanity (now reached 100 trillion people) are spreading throughout the Earth and asteroid belt.

"The most valuable resource in the solar system is human," Lewis said in 2015 - "Imagine what a trillion people can achieve."

Another way to interpret Musk's thinking is that if there are really no aliens, then only us and countless planets are like big rocks floating in pillars, so we should use them.

Or as Lewis says:

"Smart life, once supported by the resources of space, will be the greatest resource in the solar system . The most complete level of life is intelligence and compassion. record".

Of course, achieving that fulfillment will be a lot easier if there is no threat from advanced alien creatures that always destroys us!
