Establishment of super solar storm forecast center
The UK will set up a space forecasting center, to predict the emergence of super solar storms, potentially affecting the earth.
The British government said on December 25 that the space weather forecast center will start operating next spring. Based on data from the sun's surface, the center will give an early warning of the occurrence of this phenomenon as it prepares to form.

The UK will invest $ 7 million for the space forecasting center in the next three years to allow users to access online forecasting results. The center will operate all days of the year. The UK Space Weather Center will work closely with the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in an effort to monitor the solar storm.
Solar storms appear after huge plasma explosions on the sun's surface. They shoot billions of charged particles into space at millions of kilometers per hour. When it comes to Earth, solar-charged particles have the ability to disable satellite, communications and grid systems, seriously affecting aircraft electronic devices.
The charged particles need 17 hours to 3 days to cross the distance from the sun to the earth. Although we cannot prevent the formation of super solar storms, early forecast efforts help people actively limit the damage of storms.
Typically, solar storms cause only aurora on the earth's poles. However, in 1989, a strong solar storm broke down the grid system in Quebec, Canada, causing 6 million people to lose power.
In 1859, the world also suffered one of the strong solar storms - several centuries it appeared once. A similarly intense solar storm will seriously affect human electricity, communications and satellite systems. Super solar storm can cause the world to fall into turmoil.
